Ken King, RT "Jesus Ken! Humor and Normalizing Patient Experience"

Episode 8
Oh friends! Ken "Jesus Ken!" King brings us a heartfelt conversation about his work as a respiratory therapist. Ken offers insight into his patient interactions and into how he strives to bring some normalcy into a very abnormal setting. Ken is all things air - which it turns out is important to living - and shares his journey into this specific and important field. Ken is well loved and came to us highly recommended. He brings support to staff as well as patient care and uses humor to help bring levity for coping. Surprisingly, Ken is less "jokey" than normal on this podcast, opting to highlight the emotional weight of this work and reflect on humor and normalizing, rather than practicing it (though we did tease out a "hilarious" joke at the end).
It was especially special to be joined by Ken's teenage son on this episode, who sat in the corner and absorbed his dad's work. It was a tender moment! Please listen to Ken and feel invited to offer feedback via email or stars or both! And consider supporting us financially to help us continue bringing these guests and their stories onto this platform.
